Hello Johannes,
I recently bought a laptop and installed the latest version of blogdesk on it. So far all seems to be going great (as usual. I so love this program!).
My old computer is a desktop and it contains the previous version of BD along with all the files associated with it.
My question is this: what files to I need to copy (from the old desktop), to have them work on the new laptop and where do I put them.
I would want the files that contain the dictionary I added to, the files that have my frequently used phrases, tags, and copies of old posts. As well as any new posts that I never uploaded. Basically the "extras files".
Also I noticed in the latest version something called "smart upload". What is it and what does it do?
Oh just one more thing... I am trying to change my email address in my profile and I keep getting "sorry this email address has been banned" error message... um... ok well how do I change my profile properly and why is it banned? *sighs* not sure how the "notify me" option will work now??
Thanks for the response and have an awesome day ;) |

Take a look at the chapter Data Backup & Transfer in the help.

Search for smartupload in the help.

Ok I did this and am receiving several error messages relating to Path/File errors and I have no idea how to fix them. Hopefully you can help:
I added the following to the default .cfg file to
:C\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\UserData\
I started receiving error messages that said the app could not find/save to the various folders (sent, draft, tags) etc as well as the .ini file.
I ultimately deleted the stuff I added to the cfg file yet the files are not saving correctly, so now the cfg file is back to normal.
I am not sure what I did wrong or how to fix these error issues. Help?!?!
Thanks

Exactly like this? You should change it to:
[Main]
UserPath=C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\UserData

Yes, the above is what I had... changed it back to
[list][Main]
UserPath
and still receiving "unable to save" errors.
I took snapshots of the errors, but do not know how to post them here (sorry my html is really bad)
I could email them if necessary. Let me know.
Thanks |
